Chemistry is the foremost of all biological sciences that focused in Drug Designing, Environmental monitoring, Forensic science and Plant science. Basically Chemistry is referred to as central science due to its tendency to connect with the other disciplines namely, Physics, Biology, Geology etc ., by the study of interaction of chemical substances with one another and its energy . Chemistry primarily deals with composition, statistical properties of their structure and its transformation to become materials encountered in every aspects of life. Chemistry gives path to scientists, chemists and people working in pollution control and quality control board, drug designing, E-journalist and so no. Future developments in areas of key importance for the progress in Polymer, Material science, Biomaterials and Bimolecular electronics, Nanomagnetisim, Nan oxides, Liquid crystals, Automation in clinical sciences and Molecular simulation of green solvents.
The Department of Chemistry was installed in the year 1996.Within a short time, the department has grown with the introduction of PG course in the year 2002.The department’s plan to start a research programme,came true in the year 2005 and 9 were admitted as research scholars in M.Phil.

Her field of interest are Industrial chemistry and in Organic chemistry. She has presented two papers in National seminar and presented two papers in International conference and participated in three workshops. She has participated in UGC Sponsored National Level Workshop on Micro scale Experiment in Chemistry, Nagercovil on 3rd-5th February 2011. She has 1 ½ year of Teaching experience in School and 4 ½ year Teaching experience in college. She has guided 12 M.Sc., students.

Ganesan Vanaja is a lecturer. She has obtained her M.Phil degree from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli 2009. Her field of interest is phytochemistry. She has presented paper in National level conference and attened one state level workshop, one state level seminar. She has participated in UGC Sponsored National Level Workshop on Micro scale Experiment in Chemistry, Nagercovil on 3rd-5th February 2011. She has 2½ year of Teaching experience .She has guided 8 M.Sc., students.
Ms.R.YAMUNA DEVI M.Sc.,
Yamuna devi.R is a Lecturer. She has obtained her M.Sc., degree from Bharathidasan University., Thiruchirapalli in 2010.Her field of research interests are Electrical Corrosion and Organic Chemistry.She has attended National Level Conference. She has participated in “NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON FRONTIERS IN CHEMISTRY RESEARCH ” on 5th December , 2008,Holy Cross College, Tiruchirappalli and She has participated in the Two days Workshop on wholesome management on (19.11.2009&20.11.2009), Holy Cross College, Tiruchirappalli. She has participated in “NATIONAL SEMINAR ON SOCIETAL IMPLICATIONS OF NANOSCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY” on 23rd December, 2010.Anna University of Technology, Tiruchirappalli and she has Computer Knowledge in DCA and Tally. She has one year of teaching experience and She has guided one M.Sc student.
Ms.BHOVANAASHWARI.T M.Sc., M.Phil.
Bhovanaashwari.T is a Lecturer. She has obtained her M.Phil. Degree from Periyar University, Salem in 2010. She got GOLD MEDAL in M.Phil Chemistry. She has won UNIVERSITY SECOND RANK in B.Sc Chemistry. Her fields of research interests are Inorganic & Environmental Chemistry. She has participated and Presented Poster in the UGC Sponsored Seminar on “Food Quality And Safety” Organized by Department of Chemistry, Nirmala College for Women, Coimbatore on 9th January 2009.She has presented Paper in UGC National Level Seminar on “Glimpses of Material Science”, Organized by Department of Physics & Chemistry, Sri Sarada College For Women (Autonomous), Salem on 1st February 2010.
She has attended two workshops in “The Workshop on Green Chemistry” conducted by Muthayammal College Of Arts & Science on 17 th -19 th,May 2006 and UGC Sponsored, National Workshop on “Green Process Techniques For Industrial Application(GREPTIA-2009) conducted by Department of Industrial Chemistry, School of Chemistry, Alagappa University,Karaikudi-630003 during March 20-21,2009.She has presented a research paper in CSIR & DST Sponsored National Level Seminar on Frontiers in Organic Synthesis and Medicinal Chemistry(FOSMC-2011) Conducted by Department of Chemistry, Periyar University,Salem-636011 during February 17-18, 2011.She has 2 ½ years of teaching experience. Ulagnathan Punitha is a Lecturer. She has obtained her M.phil.degree from Bharathidasan University., Tiruchirapalli in 2008.Her field of research interest is Co-Ordination Chemistry.
