Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Arts &Science for Women celebrated its cultural day “NAKSHATRA 11”(An Interdepartmental cultural fest) on March 2nd 2011 at the College Campus.The Founder-Chairman Shri.A.Srinivasan presided over the function. Mrs.K.Bhagirathi Vice Principal,offered felicitations. Ms.Shanmugapriya.R, Cultural Co-ordinator, welcomed the gathering.   

The Chief guest for the function was Subramaniyapuram movie fame Actor Mr.Jai . In his address he expressed his happiness to be a part of the show. He also said that it was one of his most memorable day in his life. He also appreciated the girls who performed various events which was really amazing and entertaining. Nearly 30 competitions were conducted. The three style of dance-Folk,Western and Classical deserved a special mention. Tamil and English Extempore, pencil sketch,face painting,vegetable-carving,flower-arrangement,just-a minute,Soapcarving,Dumb-Charade, Ad-Act, Foot Notes,Mime show, Ms.Nakshatra, and Talentia made the fest hueful.

Students performed various events to entertain the audience and the chief guest. He distributed the prizes and certificates to the winners of various competitions. He interacted with the students about his career as a hero and his personal experience in the field and also entertained the audience by singing and dancing along with the students. Mrs.Malathy Sivendren, Director of Samarphanam Entertainment Pvt.Ltd, Chennai, also participated in this cultural Show. 
                       
Ms.A.K.Nikitha, Department of Biotechnology was awarded  the title “Ms. NAKSHATRA”. The Department of Biotechnology bagged the Winner Trophy of Nakshatra’11 and The Department of Computer Application emerged as Runner. Ms.Manju.G.Nair, Cultural Co-ordinator proposed the vote of thanks.

Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Arts and Science for Women,Perambalur, celebrated the Inter-Departmental Cultural Fest-Nakshatra –’10 on 03.03.10. The Founder-Chairman, Shri.          The cynosure was Cine Star Bharath, who added more halo to the day.Nearly 30 competitions were conducted.The three unities of dance-Folk,Western and Classical deserved a special mention.Tamil and English Extempore, pencil sketch,face painting,vegetable carving flower arrangement, Turn Coat,just-a-minute,Soapcarving,Dumb Charade,ivargal santhithal,Ad-Act, Foot Notes,Mime show, Ms.Nakshatra, and Talentia made the fest hueful.

         Actor Bharath gave away the prizes to the winners of various competitions and he interacted with the students by answering their queries.He proved that he was multifaceted by indulging himself in singing and dancing which made the day a dazzling one. The Department of English bagged the Winner Trophy of Nakshatra’10 and The Department of Biotechnology emerged as Runner. Ms.Manju.G.Nair, Cultural Co-ordinator presented the vote of thanks.

Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Arts and Science for Women Organized a Two day CULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA’09 on March 6th and 7th 2009. Shri. A.Srinivasan, Founder-Chairman, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Educational Institutions presided over the function. Shri.P.Neelaraj, Secretary, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Educational Institutions and Principal Dr.RM.Meenakshi, felicitated the gathering.

The Chief Guest for the First day show was the young, Heart-throbbing Actor Aarya, who thrilled the audience with a dance performance along with the students at the cultural Extravaganza’09. Aarya, who made his debut through the film Ullam Kaetkume, felt that such cultural programmes help bring out the latent talents in students. In his address he said,“I am thankful to my parents who have always been a constant source of encouragement.He also motivated the students to respect their parents and teachers. A fun filled interactive session was also a part of the show and the students posed a range of questions to Aarya on his Latest release “Naan Kadavul”,his entry into the film industry and future projects. The young hero answered all the questions directed at him with a touch of Humour. He presented audio CDs of his soon-to-be –released movie “Sarvam” to the students, who participated in the interaction.

The final day’s show was so colorful with the presence of the young and enthusiastic team of dancers from the Kalaignar TV Fame “Maanada Mayilada”. They kept the audience glue to the seats through their power packed, rocking performance. Also there were professional Traditional male dancers who performed Karagattam and Kalli Dance.It was a splendid performance by the artists. On the whole, the students had a fun filled gala time on the day of CULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA’09.
