The club of the Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Arts And Science For Women (Autonomous) has created an awareness students about consumer education rights and responsibilities, was established in 2009.
To bring awareness and realization among students about their duties and responsibilities as citizen of India and to educate students about right of the consumer protection Act 1986.
Highlights
Consumer Club got best consumer club award in the year 2017- 2018 for executing best activities.
Electoral Literacy Club (ELC)

The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of our college has been established with the objective of nurturing a culture of informed, ethical, and responsible voting among young citizens. The club provides a platform for students to engage with the democratic process, understand the importance of active participation in elections, and uphold the values of our Constitution.
Through activities like debates, quizzes, poster-making, pledge campaigns, mock polls, street plays, and interactive sessions, the ELC creates awareness about voter rights, responsibilities, and the electoral process. It also educates students on the importance of inclusive and accessible elections, while discouraging malpractices such as electoral bribery and misinformation.
The ultimate aim of the ELC is to build “Informed and Empowered Future Voters” who contribute meaningfully to the democratic fabric of the nation. By joining the club, students not only learn about the power of the ballot but also develop leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

An Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC)
An Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) aims to foster entrepreneurial spirit and skills among students. The club is designed to provide a platform for students to learn from experienced entrepreneurs, network with like-minded individuals, and develop their business ideas.

Unnat bharat abhiyan (UBA) is about "Knowledge for society and Knowledge from society " - using academic research and innovation to uplift rural India sustainably.Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is a flagship programme of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, launched in 2014 with the vision of transforming rural India through knowledge, technology, and community engagement.

Exnora

Exnora is a grassroots, non-profit environmental movement that started in Chennai (Madras), Tamil Nadu, in 1989, founded by M. B. Nirmal. The name Exnora comes from the words “Excellent, Novel, and Radical ideas.”

To make communities clean, green, and environmentally responsible.
Activities

National Service Scheme

National Service Scheme Day 2022: From History to ...The National Service Scheme (NSS), launched in India in 1969, was inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's ideals of community service and aims to develop the personality of students through voluntary social work. On September 24, 1969, the Union Education Minister Dr. V.K.R.V. Rao initiated the program in 37 universities, with the support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Planning Commission. The program's motto, "Not Me, But You," emphasizes selfless service for the welfare of society.
Objectives
Personality Development: The NSS aims to develop the personality and character of student youth through voluntary community service. Community Engagement: It serves as an extension of the higher education system, providing students with hands-on experience in community service. National Integration: The program acts as a powerful instrument for national integration, fostering understanding between urban and rural populations.
National cadet corps

National cadet corps Day 2006 and reraise in the year of 2023 :From history to.... National Cadet Corps (NCC) in 1948. The NCC was formally established by the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948, following a recommendation by the H.N. Kunzru Committee. The Army wing is the largest component of the tri-service NCC, which also includes Naval and Air wings established later in 1952 and 1950, respectively. The Army wing focuses on developing character, discipline, and leadership in youth, preparing them for service and a secular outlook, and has been an integral part of civil defense during conflicts.Development of youth : The main aim of the Army wing is to build character and discipline in young people, preparing them to be excellent citizens and future leaders in all aspects of life.Second Line of Defense: During the 1965 and 1971 wars with Pakistan, NCC cadets served as a second line of defense, assisting in civil defense, organizing camps, and even capturing enemy paratroopers.
Youth Red Cross (YRC)

The primary motive of YRC is to promote humanitarian values and encourage community service among youth. It aims to inspire, encourage, and initiate humanitarian activities to minimize human suffering and contribute to creating a more congenial climate for peace.

Consumer Club

A Consumer Club is a voluntary group (often in schools, colleges, or communities) formed to create awareness among consumers about their rights, responsibilities, and available remedies. It acts as a platform for consumer education, empowering individuals to make informed choices and fight unfair trade practices.
Objectives of Consumer Club
